Crisis ConvertedSample
Theme: God is doing a new thing.
Crisis Converted Then:
Not even the monumental achievement of God’s exodus from Egypt can compare to the new thing that God was crafting for his exiled people. Their return from slavery would be as refreshing as springs of water shooting up through the sand. God would lay the path for his people to travel along the dangerous wasteland without fear. Even the wild animals, feared for protecting their territory, would honor this God who provides.
Crisis Converted Now:
In the dusty recesses of our sinful hearts, God, who rescued Hebrew slaves from Egyptian brick-making in the desert, can provide springs of refreshment for those who look to him. This God will lay the kingdom path before us and clear the way through Jesus our Savior. Jesus offers living water to those who trust him, and he provides his grace and salvation to those who follow him. When was a time that you drank freely from God’s grace?

About this Plan
This study from Isaiah 40-55 explores our identity as people affected by trauma but living in hope. In the exile, God’s nation had to find new life when their old life had been completely overturned and destroyed. Similarly, we now find ourselves trying to “return to normal” in the aftermath of a global pandemic. Yet, God can take any crisis and convert it for his glory and our growth.
