DAY 4 OF 4

GOD'S TIME IS THE BEST

And some of those of understanding shall fall, to refine them, purify them, and make them white, until the time of the end; because it is still for the appointed time. (Daniel 11:35)

Have we ever been impatient waiting for God to do miracles in our lives? We pray and wait for things that never seem to happen. This could be a prayer for the salvation of our loved ones who have not believed in and experienced God's touch. This could be a prayer for financial breakthroughs or an equal life partner. It could also be about our dreams and longings that seem to be put by the Lord in our hearts.

While our souls could become frustrated with this waiting period, we must know that God has an appointed time for His will. We can't push Him nor make it happen one minute sooner. Look at the story of Abraham and Sarah. They know that God had promised them a child, but the promise didn't happen fast enough while both of them were getting older. Their frustration made them decide to take Hagar. They thought that Sarah's servant would make God's plan come true. Man's idea is not God's idea.

The problem is that no one can help God. Even though Abraham and Sarah's plan worked with Ishmael's birth, Ishmael was not the promised child. Their impatience had a profound impact on the world.

Before we judge them with wrongful accusations, let us take a look at ourselves and think of our responses while waiting on God's timing. Some of us spend our time with busyness so that we do not think of the length of our waiting time anymore. Many of us look for other options "to help the Lord" even though we know deep down in our hearts that this is just a futile effort. Some even get discouraged and begin to doubt whether God cares or notices the pain in our hearts.

However, we can find the key in Daniel 11:35. It says, "For it is still waiting for the appointed time". Our Lord has an appointed time for everything that happens on this earth. We can only see a little bit of how things work, but He makes all things work together because He is God. Our God sees the bigger picture in life. Our role is to trust Him. Everything will happen on time in His time. Let Him find us faithfully waiting in our prayer, worship, and declaring the promises of God.

Don't be anxious because the Lord is never too late to help and lift us.
