Captive No More: Freedom From Pain, Shame and GuiltSample
Freedom
“Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid or terrified because of them, for the Lord your God goes with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you.”
Then Moses summoned Joshua and said to him in the presence of all Israel, “Be strong and courageous, for you must go with this people into the land that the Lord swore to their ancestors to give them, and you must divide it among them as their inheritance.
The Lord himself goes before you and will be with you; he will never leave you nor forsake you. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged.”
Deuteronomy 31:6-8
I don’t think you ever “get over it,” by pushing it to the back of your mind, or simply forgetting about it. Your past is a part of who you were, who you are, and who you will be. A past injury can leave a scar on the body. A scar will fade- but what caused the scar, is no longer an emergency needing medical attention.
So many loved ones, friends, and acquaintances are pulling for you. The new you will see how many opportunities you have for getting back into a healthy, intentional life. All of those opportunities are waiting down the line.
Powering through this tough look at yourself and the circumstances of your life is just the beginning of your taking responsibility for those things now. You’ve made a statement to yourself, and most importantly to God, that you will pursue and cling to Him for your freedom. No one I know has ever been freed and stayed free without Jesus Christ as the lead in their life. Hold onto the Rock!
Rak Chazak Amats!
This ancient Hebrew war cry has emboldened God’s warriors for centuries. The call to be strong, courageous and without hesitation to consider the impossibilities makes conquerors of us all! This Hebrew call to victory has launched many God-inspired warriors into battle. May it now lead you.
Can you imagine living life with this stamped on your heart? No enemy too big, too strong, too intimidating. No calling of God too big, too bold, too demanding. God is with you, and your promised land is a life free from a painful past, and a future blessing of basking within the light of God’s will.
Knock, call, or cry out to Jesus, and He is there with you. No pride. No ego. No shame. Only Freedom. It is yours if you’re just willing to march forward with Rak Chazk Amats. Armor yourself with this war cry:
Rak Chazak Amats!
Rak Chazak Amats!!
Rak Chazak Amats!!!

About this Plan
“Suck it up.” Those words empowered and encouraged me as a boy. They injured me as a man. When we talk about pain, we first think of physical pain from injury or accident. There is a masculine, internal block on the notion of our emotions or feelings being hurt. How could they be, we’re men after all!
