The Power Of Christ’s Sacrifice

The blood of Jesus Christ shed for your redemption and for mine will never lose its power. 

Like men drag an ox to be slaughtered, Jesus was dragged from His place of prayer in Gethsemane to a place of agony. In merciless mockery, a purple robe was placed upon His shoulders. In unmatched cruelty, a crown of thorns was thrust upon His head. On Creation morning, God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit created man, and now the created was destroying the Creator. 

Jesus had so much power. With one word, He could have pulverized the earth and destroyed every human being, yet He used His strength to remain silent. He allowed His own murder so that you and I would know, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that our sins have been buried in the deepest sea, never to be remembered against us anymore. We are the Church triumphant. We are whiter than snow. We are free. 

Brutally beaten, Jesus was forced to walk to His own death while another man carried His cross. On a hill called Golgotha, Roman soldiers nailed Jesus’s hands and feet to His execution pole and raised Him up to be mocked by everyone traveling the busy thoroughfare. The soldiers made a game of it, gambling for His clothes. 

Even after Jesus had taken His last breath, His body continued to be brutalized. Because He was already dead, the soldiers did not break His legs like they did to the two men crucified beside Him, Instead, one of the soldiers pierced Jesus's side with a spear, bringing a sudden flow of blood and water. 

The “power to save!” Without the blood, there is no hope. Without the blood, there is no future. Without the blood, there is no power. WITH the blood, we have everlasting life, and victory over death, hell, and the grave. 

The tomb of Joseph of Arimathea, where Jesus was laid after the crucifixion, is empty. He is not there! The angels removed the stone, not to let Jesus out, but to let us in so that we could see that God accepted the sacrifice. And because He lives, we shall also live. 

Consider what we have through the blood of Jesus. We have unlimited power for protection. When I die and my body leaves this earth, the devil is going to see me coming and he’s going to say to every power and principality: “Back up! Don’t touch! He’s covered with the blood of the Lamb, and he’s on the way to the Father’s throne.”  

Without the blood of Jesus Christ, Christianity is a powerless fraud. Without the blood of Jesus Christ, the Church is a religious fraternity of people living in absolute deception. Without the blood of Jesus Christ, our preaching is in vain, our worship is a farce. Without the blood: we have ritual without righteousness, ceremony without conversion, and deception without discipleship. Without the blood of Jesus Christ, the Church is nothing because it has nothing to offer if it doesn’t offer salvation for the soul. 

You are saved by the blood, washed by the blood of the One Jesus Christ. It is only the blood that can remove the death penalty from my life and from yours. He became the curse for us, and that curse was broken when He said, “It is finished.” 

It is not possible for you to get to heaven until you accept the substitutionary death of Jesus Christ on the cross as your Redeemer. If you do not accept His death, you are required to pay for your sins, and trust me, you don’t have enough buying power to purchase your redemption into heaven.
