When you’re busy

Psalm 127:1
Unless the LORD builds the house,
its builders labour in vain.
Sometimes you and I can get so busy striving and planning that we forget to ask if what we’re labouring away at is God’s will.
This Psalm is a reminder to slow down and wait for God to guide us before we fill up our days with activity. This is more important than ever as modern life gets faster and busier and the days roll by so quickly. It’s easy to get caught up in the rush then to forget to slow down and seek His will for our lives.
Yet it’s only when you seek Him that you know you’re building in the right direction!
On the flip side, this Psalm reminds us that if the Lord is 'building the house' then anything is possible, regardless of talent, finances, or circumstances. Now, that’s an encouraging thought for you – if it’s the Lord’s will, nothing is impossible!
So what are you labouring on today? What are the plans and dreams that occupy your mind when you’re sitting in the line-up at the start of a new day? What are the projects you’re putting your hands to?
Take your opportunity today to place them at God’s feet and ask for His direction and blessing.
- What plans are you building in your heart and dreams?
- What plans are God calling you to work on with Him?
