Is God Calling Me Into Full-Time Ministry? - 7 Questions to ConsiderSample
Day 3: How best can I please God?
“And behold, a voice from heaven said, ‘This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased.’” — Matthew 3:17
You may be considering full-time ministry because you sense that it will please the Lord. Do you know what pleases Him most? God is pleased when we seek to glorify Him in who we are and all we do. Consider Father God’s words to His Son, Jesus, before His Son healed one person, called one disciple, cleansed one sinner: “This is my beloved Son, with whom I am well pleased” (Matthew 3:17). Jesus was 100 percent focused on the Father and set on carrying out the Father’s will in such a way as to bring glory and honor to His great name.
Consider what Jesus had done and was doing at the time. He had humbly served as a carpenter, faithfully following in the footsteps of His earthly father, Joseph. Jesus was humbling Himself to be publicly baptized by John. He was putting Himself in the very best position to be used of His Father to make a Kingdom difference. What would it look like for you to do the same?
Today’s Prayer:
Father, help me to be up to date with You. Remove any sin barriers I have placed between You and me so that I can hear You with crystal clarity. Help me to know what it would look like for me to prepare as Jesus did, to put myself in the very best position to be used of You now and in the future. Whether I stay where I am or transition to full-time ministry, my trust is in You.
