Strength & CourageSample
Not A Single One
Years had passed. Joshua was an old man, and God had brought Israel through many battles and settled them in the land He had promised. As Joshua neared his life’s end, he gathered the leaders of Israel together to take one last chance to remember.
In his last address, Joshua encouraged Israel to remain faithful. He knew their new lands were full of false gods with empty powers, and Israel could often be a fickle people, quick to forget their one true God. He reminded them of the consequences of such faithless rebellion and urged them to stay true to their Deliverer.
But mostly, as Joshua’s days drew to an end, he wanted to talk about his Lord. God had provided for them. He had fought for them. He had kept every promise He’d made. Not a single one was left unfulfilled. Joshua wanted to gather with his people to remember, to stand in awe, to worship, and to obey. At the end of his life, his only advice was to cling with strength and courage to God, whose faithfulness, love, and power would never falter.
