Working From Rest: A Prayer JourneySample
Stopping
Lord, I respond in obedience to your command to be still and declare that you are Lord over my life and over the nations.
Like the tennis players mentioned on Day 3, we need to build recovery routines into every day and not just Sundays. The sabbath principles still apply – we stop, we become still and know that the Lord is God, we remember that He is our fortress, and we give thanks. This can take 40 seconds, 40 minutes, 40 hours, or, like Elijah, 40 days. One way to think of this is as punctuation – the spaces between words, sentences, paragraphs, and chapters. Remove this punctuation and the text no longer makes sense. So it is with our lives.
For reflection: What does your current pattern of punctuation look like?

About this Plan
Sabbath rest is essential to our identity as God’s people: a gift to refresh us and equip us for good work. But many of us find it hard to do. This prayer journey will help you explore the reasons for restlessness, God’s gift of rest, and how your work – in your job, your home, or your street – can flow from that place of rest and connection with Him.
