Love of ThreeSample
Love yourself
And the second is similar: You will love your neighbor as yourself. (Matthew 22:39)
Jesus commands us to love our neighbor as we love ourselves, so this third love is very important: self-love.
It's true that life is not just about us, but if we don't take care of ourselves and appreciate ourselves, how do we expect to give 100% to others? God created us in His image, gave us talents and gifts, died for us, and has shown us his great love. He sees us as precious and one-of-a-kind jewels.
He knows everything he put into us and made us to shine, to love, to be great. Now, how are you looking at yourself? When you look at your reflection in the mirror, are your thoughts of acceptance or contempt? Are you looking beyond your envelope? Have you stopped to think about your strengths and talents, or are you just comparing yourself to others? If God, who knows everything about you, loves you and has great esteem for you, why don't you?
The Bible has countless verses that serve as reminders of how important we are to God. We're beautiful beings full of potential. Let's love, forgive and value ourselves, appreciate our differences, and be proud of our abilities.
By loving God, those around us and ourselves, we'll be practicing the perfect love that heaven has instituted. In fact, the Ten Commandments boil down to this: love God, give Him our respect, and love our neighbor.
Loving is a blessing. Let's get the best of it.
Prayer: Lord, everything You created You made good, and I'm a part of that perfect creation. Thank you for giving me a purpose and a love that is beyond my understanding. Help me to always see what You see in me.-
I really enjoyed writing this plan because I realized that God really is love, and He wants us all to enjoy and share that love. I hope you can put into practice what you learned not just this week but your whole life.
