Daily Bible Reading – February 2021 God’s Word of LoveSample

February 22
Introduction
Jesus blesses little children, saying that one must enter God’s kingdom like a child. Then he speaks with a rich man who asks Jesus what he must do to receive eternal life.
Today’s scripture reading
Luke 18:15-30
Today’s key verse: Luke 18:17
[Jesus said:] “Remember this! Whoever does not receive the Kingdom of God like a child will never enter it.”
Reflect
What do you think it means to “receive the Kingdom of God like a child”? How does Jesus respond to the rich man who asks Jesus what he must do to receive eternal life? What is the rich man’s reaction? What does this story teach about the accumulation of wealth and possessions? Can wealth be used to advance the Kingdom of God? If so, how? If not, why not?
Pray
Lord God, whenever I feel as if I don’t have as much as I need or as much as I want, remind me of your blessings and to share my resources freely and lovingly. Help me to share with others as an expression of my trust and faith in you. Amen.
Prayer concern
Those who are struggling financially
Tomorrow’s reading
Luke 18:31-43: Jesus heals a blind beggar.
