Crazy Happy Sample

THE BLESSED LIFE

Do you want to be happy? I mean, really happy? 

I sure hope so.

And if you are in Christ, God has plans to make you happy. Really happy. Crazy happy.

Because happy are the people whose God is the Lord.

So often, we think that happiness comes from a change of situation, from a bunch of religious activities, or from fulfilling some sort of spiritual checklist. But if you are like me, you have tried all of that and found yourself still searching. Not that any of those things are bad. Often those positive changes are good. But they’re not truly fulfilling.

The Crazy Happy life is all about what Jesus has done for us, in us, and then ultimately through us. When that happens, we see the Beatitudes and the fruit of the Spirit not as a goal to attain but as our way of life. 

I am continuing to learn this myself. I uncovered this Crazy Happy way of life at a time that everything was going amazing. I have a beautiful family. I get to be a part of a great church. I love my calling and vocation. And I even get to write books. Yet I was feeling crispy. You know the feeling: Tired. Burnt to a crisp. Short-fused. Unfulfilled.

I couldn’t figure out why I felt this way. I was living the dream and doing things I always wanted to do. But, I realized that Crazy Happy wasn’t all my hopes and dreams coming true. Crazy Happy is a disposition of the heart that abides in Jesus, knowing that we are loved despite our issues. Crazy Happy is a gift from Jesus.

And so, you see, the Beatitudes and the fruit of the Spirit show us what a blessed life looks like at street level. There is so much more we can talk about when it comes to how to experience the Crazy Happy life. I invite you to join me…because it’s so worth it. 

Today I want to pray this prayer over you:

 Father, 

Thank you for my friends who have joined me on this journey. For all of us, this journey is not yet complete. So help us today to trust and abide in Jesus. Lead us, by your Spirit, into the Crazy Happy life that Jesus bought for us on Calvary’s cross. Thank you for loving us and saving us. Thank you for your grace which we need so desperately.
