Love God Greatly: Shame BreakerSample
Do you ever struggle with believing that God has truly forgiven you? Perhaps you struggle to believe that God does not hold past sins over your head. Thankfully, God addresses this in Psalm 103. When God forgives us, it is as if those sins are as far away from us as the east is from the west. It is not that God is suddenly forgetful, but He does not hold those sins against us. Jesus died for us, the wrath of God was satisfied, and our debt was paid—permanently.
God will not hold those sins out in front of us and demand payment.
Do not let sin fool you into thinking God has not forgiven you. There is no sin stronger than God. This means His love is stronger than any offense you can commit, His compassion deeper than any shame you feel, and His forgiveness more covering than any sin. This is mercy and grace.
Lord, Your kindness and mercy are truly unbelievable. I have such a hard time forgiving others over minor infractions, and yet, You forgive every single sin I commit because I belong to You. Help me, Lord, to repent quickly and to fight sin through the power of the Holy Spirit. Amen.
