Love God Greatly: Shame BreakerSample

Sin is the reason there is brokenness in the world. Sin caused broken bodies, broken minds, broken wills, and broken souls. Sometimes, we can feel shame in brokenness. It can come from poor choices adding to our broken state or simply because our world itself is broken. 

God is full of mercy and grace. He is patient and kind. Jesus understands, more than we realize, the temptations we deal with daily. He was fully tempted, but He did not give in to sin. He sympathizes with us because He knows our brokenness and our weakness. He offers us His strength. We have no need to be shy in going to Him with all our issues, problems, temptations, and brokenness. He is ready, willing, and able to help us. 

David’s heart for Mephibosheth mirrors the heart of our heavenly Father. God extends kindness to us because of Jesus. We can confidently approach Him because He alone knows our weakness. We can boldly ask for what we need because He alone can meet our deepest needs.

Lord, I am so thankful You understand my brokenness and the temptations I fight daily. Thank You for Your mercy when I fail. Help me to come to You quickly for all my needs and give me the faith I need to believe that You understand what I am going through. Amen.
