The Golden KeySample
DAY 2 - THE STRENGTH OF YOUR KEY
As Parri Grout said: Gratitude is the key that turns problems into blessings and the unexpected into gifts.
Why be grateful? Have you ever wondered about the importance of being a thankful person? Unfortunately, human beings are used to being trustworthy, and we tend to feel that we are not going to lose our things, but rather that they will multiply. We have the tendency to ask and ask God, but sometimes we forget to be grateful, or we don't do it from the heart. For example: Have you ever heard those people who say "Thank God" repeatedly? Well, do they feel grateful, or is it a habit?
Joseph was a grateful person; he was a man who always recognized God as his creator and giver. And look how far Joseph went! Is gratitude the key to understanding God's purpose for us? It is our choice. There are many attitudes of the heart, not just gratitude, but this is one of the main ones.
We want to ask you a question. Do you recognize God as your creator? Possibly your answer was yes, but now, do you recognize God as the reason why the bird in your window sings every day? Or the reason you have enough food? Or the reason you were given the job? Or the reason you were accepted to college? God is at work, too, only sometimes He's much more visible than other times. We usually know that God created the heavens and the earth, but what about the little things? They are also God's creation, and therefore if it is His creation, He will take care of it (that includes you).
By recognizing God as the creator and provider of everything, we understand the importance of gratitude because then we realize that without Him, we would have nothing; we would not even exist. God does not ask you to thank Him so that He can give you more. God is not like that. He is going to provide even when you ignore Him. But, when we thank, we enjoy His grace much more, we learn to be humble, be well even when we seem to lack everything, live enjoying life to the fullest, and our heart learns from the goodness of Jesus. Remember that everything He does is for our good, so be thankful for that! Thanksgiving is the golden key.
The Bible tells us: "Give thanks to the Lord, for he is good; his great love endures forever." - Psalm 107:1. No matter what you are going through. Raise your hands and give thanks, because God is good; He is merciful and has great plans for you.
Your blessing today:
Go out for a walk, a short walk anywhere you live. Observe and recognize everything around you (nature, people, things, feelings, you) and thank God for it.
