Love as the Key to Racial ReconciliationSample
What can you do?
The ultimate issue with race relations, or any injustice towards another human being, is a matter of the heart. The solution seems simple... love everyone, and let love trump hate. Hate allows fear, and fear causes resistance. Hate causes division. Nothing good comes from hate. Nothing good comes from the seed of fear. So, is the simple answer and solution to search your heart and find that place where you can genuinely love everyone? If so, what is genuine love? How do you display it?
Simply not hating someone, in itself, is not love. Love requires intentionality. Love requires care. Love requires action. Love requires a life evidencing the fruit of the Spirit. Do you love everyone? Are you ready to love?
The Scriptures are clear on love. When asked, Jesus confirmed that the greatest commandment is to love God with all of your heart, soul, and mind. He also confirmed the second greatest commandment. Which is to love your neighbor as yourself. Explore your heart. Are you fulfilling these commandments? If not, how can you change that?
About this Plan
The tragic death of George Floyd sparked discussions about why are we still talking about race and racial injustice in 2020. In hope of finding a solution, and common ground after his death, many people raised this question, “What can I do?” This devotional will explain what you can do, and help you to prepare your heart and mind for love and, ultimately, racial reconciliation.
