Be Life Giving

The enemy wants to come in and destroy sisterhood. He wants to kill relationships and steal the powerful force when women come together. HOWEVER, Jesus has come to give women life in all its fullness. Once women find sisterhood, there's nothing stronger and more life-giving. 

So how do we speak life into our sisters?

ONE: ‘Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.’  - Colossians 4:6. NIV

Respond, don’t react. Bring Jesus into your conversations. If you are going for coffee or having lunch with a friend, ask God beforehand what type of words will bless that friend. What words of encouragement might he have for them? 

TWO: “The soothing tongue is a tree of life, but a perverse tongue crushes the spirit.” Proverbs 15:4.

Our words make or break people. They give life or steal life. Before you speak, ask yourself: is what I am going to say life-adding or depleting? Will it produce blessing or increase fear? Not every story needs to be told. Not every detail needs to be divulged.

THREE: ”Those who guard their mouths and their tongues keep themselves from calamity.” Proverbs 21:23. 

Like your mom used to say, “If you don’t have anything good to say then don’t say anything at all.“

There are times when we get things wrong! The words just cascade from your mouth and as soon as you’ve said it, you regret it. This is when you need to extend yourself some grace! Be sure to learn from this experience, but don’t whip yourself for it. Be someone whose words bless and do not curse, give life and not death, build up and not tear down.
