 DAY FIVE: Time, Gifts and Talents

Being generous is not always about money. You can be generous with your time, gifts, and talents. Even if you are someone without a dollar to your name, there are ways and opportunities to give to others. Did you know God has a vision for your life? That is why He not only gave Himself, but He also gave you gifts and talents. You can be generous with your gifts and talents by giving it back to the world. When you freely share your gift, it makes room and increases opportunities for you. 

Think about Whitney Houston and Michael Jackson. What if they kept their gifts to themselves and never became singers? If they did, we would have never heard Whitney’s angelic voice, or known how “Bad” Michael Jackson was as an entertainer if he had never been a Jackson 5 star. Just like Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston, you have a gift inside of you. It’s up to you to give it to the world. If you give your gift to the world, things will come into your life and bless you, but if you hold your gift, you keep it for yourself. Jesus is coming back to see what you did with what He gave you.

Each of you should use whatever gift you have received to serve others as faithful stewards of God's grace in its various forms. – 1 Peter 4:10

Command them to do good, to be rich in good deeds, and to be generous and willing to share. – 

1 Timothy 6:18

A man's gift maketh room for him and bringeth him before great men. - Proverbs 18:16

Prayer

Lord, help us not to neglect the gifts and talents you’ve provided us with, but instead to fully embrace them. Help us to have the courage to use our gifts and talents to benefit, serve, and bless others.
