People Aren’t Projects
Okay, so you’ve got good news. You’ve got the best news, actually. You know how Jesus changed your life, gives you courage, gives you hope, gives you peace. You want to share that news! And you want to share it well. That’s fantastic!
But … maybe, just maybe, you take your desire to share the Good News of Jesus to an extreme.
You don’t want to just share Jesus. You want to be the best at sharing Jesus in the whole universe! And you don’t care if you have to be sneaky or even trick people into following Jesus.
Uh-oh. Slow it down. You should probably watch this video right now.
Okay, that’s more like it! People aren’t projects! Get to know someone. Learn to love them for who they are. Try to see what God sees in them. Be a real friend. It takes time to earn respect, and it takes time to build real friendships.
Respect others’ experiences. Remember, you’re not in charge of saving someone, but you can point them to the real Savior!
Talk about what you love, making sure you include Jesus in that. Don’t be afraid to share things you’ve learned at church, from other Christians, or from your Bible. And don’t forget to pray! Pray God gives you chances to talk about Jesus with your friends, and pray they’ll be open to listening about Him sometimes.
Remember: The game-changing news of Jesus must be shared well—with gentleness and respect.
Ask yourself: Who’s my closest friend or relative who doesn’t know Jesus? When’s the last time I mentioned something about loving God, my church, a Scripture verse, or something like that when we were talking together?
Challenge yourself: Today’s Bible reading is only 1 Peter 3:15. If you’re looking for it in a great translation, the NIRV is fantastic with this verse. Make this verse a part of who you are. Grab a nice piece of paper and some colored pencils, crayons, or markers if you have them. In your best handwriting, write out the whole verse. Underline the parts you really want to work on or remember, like “always be ready” or “gently and with respect.” When you’re done, decorate it however you like, and keep it somewhere you’ll see it often.
Pray: God, thank You for how amazing You are. Thank You for how You’ve changed my life. Thank You for the way You always teach me through Your Word, the Bible. Help me always to be ready to give an answer to anyone who asks me about the hope I have in You. In Jesus’ name, amen.

About this Plan
A game changer totally reshapes the direction of a game. Jesus was a game changer for a lost world. And guess what? You can be a game changer for someone else by telling them what Jesus did for you. Evangelism is a big word with big responsibility, but it’s actually very simple. This Bible Plan will help preteens understand how to share the Gospel with gentleness and respect.
