Refined Under PressureSample
Day 13: Prisoners of War
Pray
Lord God, quiet my soul and open my mind and heart to receive Your Word. Amen.
Read
2 Kings 25:1-30
Reflect
The fall of Jerusalem is devastating for Israel. Their leadership is slaughtered and God's temple is destroyed. Is there any evidence in this passage that they called out to God for his help? Despite the complete defeat of Israel, how can we know that God will redeem his people (v.27-30)? How can this glimmer of hope help me see God's presence in the midst of tough times?
Respond
Lord, despite the chaos around me, let me always glorify you as my king and provider. Amen.
