The Gospels in 30Sample

Day 6
Matthew 16-18
The moment Peter identifies Jesus for who He truly is, Jesus in turn gives Peter his identity. “You are Peter, and on this rock I will build my church.” (Matthew 16:15-18)
It is the same for us. We do not find our true identities until we identify who Christ is to us. Jesus started this question with, “Who do people say that I am?” but later moved to, “Who do YOU say that I am?” Faith in Jesus is personal. We can only correctly identify Him through walking with Him - through valleys and on mountaintops. (It is ironic that Peter takes part in the “mountaintop” experience of the transfiguration in the following chapter.)

About this Plan

During this plan, you'll read the entirety of the Gospels in just 30 days. Are you up for the challenge? Doing so will require 2-4 chapters of Bible reading each day, along with a deep dive devotion highlighting a couple verses from each day's reading. We hope you enjoy this plan written by Cody Griggs, missionary to Ecuador.
