Growing as an Enneagram Two: The HelperSample
Discovering Positive Ways to Grow
The Enneagram teaches us that as Twos grow and become healthier, they pick up the positive qualities of type Four. You will find that as you feel more comfortable in the world, and as you trust what God says about your worth and value, it’ll be easier for you to access your emotions, to express instead of repress these emotions. You’ll have more access to your creative side and generate space to listen to others without feeling the need to help.
You’ll see these qualities in abundance in seasons of growth, but that doesn’t mean you can’t plant seeds or seek out these qualities in other seasons.
As an overview, type Fours are romantic individualists. They’re deep people who don’t push away their emotions like many others do. They crave authenticity, and they add uniquely to the world around them. They tend to be creative and thrive in beautiful and aesthetic environments.
If you know a couple of Fours personally, you may be a little repulsed by their seeming self-focus and abundant emotions. They may not seem to think of other people as you do, and you might not be attracted to the idea of becoming like them. Well, first off, the Fours who are the most obvious to you may be unhealthy, and when we are talking about growth numbers, we are talking about taking on the best qualities of Fours. If you can take a step back and see the positive qualities of the Fours in your life, or even just Fours in fiction, you’ll find something your soul is drawn toward.
This includes emotional awareness, creative depth, empathy, an ability to see beauty in the world, ease in understanding themselves, and a slower pace to life.
Creativity is one of the ways Twos go to Four in growth. You probably enjoy doing something creative, even if you don’t classify it that way. Best of all, you can use your creativity to share your love and Helper nature with others.

About this Plan
The Enneagram is an ancient personality typology. The theory behind it is that a person assumes one of nine personalities in childhood as a reaction to discovering the world as a scary, unkind place, and thus unlikely to accept their true self. This devotional is designed for Enneagram Twos, also known as the Helper.
