Screening Prospective Employees

DAY 4 OF 4

Screening Prospective Employees Part IV

In a Harvard Business Review article, Professor Iddekinge’s research reveals that past work experience has little to do with future performance. Instead, he recommends employers focus on knowledge, skills, and employee traits.

Employee traits are often personality traits that fit certain professions. For example, if you’re hiring a bookkeeper,  you wouldn’t want to hire a visionary with no detail orientation.

Caleb had the personality trait of a fearless adventurer, so God promised Caleb the mountain country in the Promised Land.

In Numbers 14:24 we read, “But because my servant Caleb has a different spirit and follows me wholeheartedly, I will bring him into the land...”

Determine what kind of traits are necessary for the role you are filling, and then search out employees who have them.
