Safe – The High Tower Of The LordSample
Day 2 – Balanced
Fear – panic – anxiety. It can come out of nowhere and it can take your breath away. The newscast of another COVID spike, the story of another company closing its doors, the very real concern when you hear of someone in your office or in your church testing positive for COVID.
Keeping your sanity during times of unrest doesn’t mean sticking your head in the sand – but it also doesn’t mean allowing yourself to become preoccupied with the daily news. There is a balance of being fully cognizant of what’s going on around you while not letting it sway you from God’s peace and assurance.
Psalm 112:7 (NLT) describes the life of a believer when darkness threatens to overtake our lives. “They do not fear bad news; they confidently trust the Lord to care for them.”
Even as governmental regulations change from day to day – masks, shutdowns, social distancing guidelines – there is one thing you can count on. God’s care for you. As believers, our faith in His care can make all the difference in how we walk through these uncertain times and the constrictions placed upon society.
“They are confident and fearless and can face their foes triumphantly. They share freely and give generously to those in need. Their good deeds will never be forgotten. They will have influence and honor.” Psalm 112: 8, 9
The way you walk through COVID-19 can have a long-lasting effect on the lives of those around you. Have you isolated yourself from them in fear – or are you finding ways to give, to care, and to show compassion?
We have a vantage point that others may not have. Let's look from the safety of God’s high tower – and be the light that comes rushing in for others.
"Light shines in the darkness for the godly. They are generous, compassionate. and righteous." Psalm 112:4 (NLT)
