Cry Out

DAY 2 OF 7

POWER POINT #2

The power of God's love breaks chains. His promise to those in darkness is that he will set them free when they cry out to Him.

We've all made mistakes and we've all been hurt. Whether it's from our own doing, pain from life experiences, or what someone else has done to us, there are times we fall in despair. The danger lies in what we turn to when we are down. When we seek anything but Jesus we become entrapped. Anger, alcohol, pornography, crime, illegal substances, gossip, cutting, eating disorders, hate, immoral relationships... all roads away from Jesus enslave us to the world and shackle our ability to live victoriously. Then we become haunted by the dark shadow cast over our lives.

Those in darkness suffer; yet, those who cry out to God in their trouble will be saved from their distress!

God's light can never be extinguished by darkness. By his great love and his great sacrifice, Jesus breaks the chains that bind us to the evil of this world and sets us free. When we confess our sins, he is faithful to forgive us so that we can walk in freedom! We no longer have to be a prisoner to our pain. We can turn our face toward God and his light heals us from our guilt, our grief, and our grudges.

PRAYER
Dear Lord, please forgive me for my wrong-doing. I cry out to you in my darkness. Thank you for paying the price for my sin. I receive your forgiveness and I ask you to help me forgive others. Please remove my hurt and restore my heart. I give you permission to break chains and crumble strongholds in my life so that I can walk in freedom and reflect your light. Amen.

Day 1Day 3

About this Plan

Cry Out

God wants to heal and rescue us. His great love has the power to pull us from where we are and place us on the path of promise. In this 7-day devotional, we will look at groups of hurting people that God saves, redeems, and blesses. God's transforming love is as available today as it was centuries ago. He is simply waiting for us to cry out to him.
