When People Pray: Unlocking a Passionate Prayer LifeSample
PASSIONATE PRAYERS
Praying for billions of souls has always been easy, but when you have to pray for a lost family member or a difficult situation close to home, it challenges you.
Often, we’re afraid to pray for the people or situations we love the most because, deep down, we worry we will be disappointed if God doesn’t answer our prayers. And so, we don’t pray because we don’t want to be let down. However, I’ve discovered the more intimate and vulnerable we’re willing to be in prayer, the more God can do in our hearts.
What or who are you passionately praying for right now?
How are you being vulnerable with God in prayer?
Passion is an irreplaceable necessity as we develop our prayer life. If you don’t care about what you’re praying for, why should God care?
Consider James 5:16-18, “The earnest prayer of a righteous person has great power and wonderful results. Elijah was a human as we are, and yet when he prayed earnestly that no rain would fall, none fell for the next three and a half years. Then he prayed for rain, and down it poured.”
Passionate prayers please the heart of a passionate God.
Over the next 6 days, use these twelve keys as a way to pursue God daily with passionate prayer.
