Fatherless On Father's DaySample

Fatherless On Father's Day

DAY 1 OF 3

# Day 1 - Embrace God as Your Dad! Regardless of how you became fatherless, it is usually hard to call anyone dad.  But God wants to fill this void in your life if you will let him.  When I was around 10 months old my dad left our family in Pennsylvania and went back to his home town of Las Vegas, NV, and never returned again. The day he left I started on my fatherless journey.  Fatherlessness is not easy, but all of us can overcome it!  The exciting thing is we do not have to try to overcome it on our own and we don't even have to remain fatherless. It may sound crazy but God wants to be your Dad if you will let Him! It says in Galatians 4:4-7: "But when the fulness of the time was come, God sent forth his Son, made of a woman, made under the law, To redeem them that were under the law, that we might receive the adoption of sons. And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father. Wherefore thou art no more a servant, but a son; and if a son, then an heir of God through Christ." What this is telling us is that Jesus came to this world and changed everything!  John 3:16 tells us that God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to this earth to give us the opportunity to have a relationship with Him!  That is exciting stuff for those of us that are fatherless because through Jesus we get to have a Dad, and not just a dad, but the best Dad of all! ## Have you ever made the decision to follow Jesus with your life?  Here is a quick guide you can follow: ### 1\.  UNDERSTAND YOUR SIN AND THE PENALTY FOR IT: * ADMIT YOU ARE A SINNER: "For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God” (Romans 3:23). You must realize that you are a sinner. Have you ever lied, stolen something, cheated, or done something you knew was wrong? If so, then you have sinned before, and admitting you are a sinner is the first step. Every person has sinned.  Have you ever sinned?  Confess your sins to God! * UNDERSTAND THAT YOUR SIN WILL LEAD YOU TO HELL: "For the wages of sin is death” (Romans 6:23a). Do you want to go to Heaven or Hell when you die?  Do you understand that the punishment for your sin is death and separation from God in a place the Bible calls Hell? But you can be saved from this!  Keep reading! ### 2\.  BELIEVE IN JESUS AND UNDERSTAND THE FREE GIFT!: * BELIEVE THAT JESUS DIED FOR YOUR SINS: "But God commendeth (proved) his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us” (Romans 5:8). Out of God’s love for us, He sent His Son to die for our sins. This is our hope, through Christ we can be saved from separation from God and an eternity in Hell. Do you believe that the only way to go to Heaven is through trusting in Jesus Christ? * ACCEPT GOD'S FREE GIFT: "but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” (Romans 6:23b) God’s gift is eternal life in Heaven only through Jesus Christ.  Are you willing to accept this FREE gift from God? ### 3\.  PRAY: * PRAY TO JESUS AND ACCEPT HIS SALVATION: "For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). Are you ready to make the decision to accept Jesus as your Savior? * THE DECISION IS COMPLETELY YOURS BUT YOU NEED TO PRAY TO GOD: "That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.  For with the heart, man believeth unto righteousness, and with the mouth, confession is made unto salvation" (Romans 10:9-10). Do you realize you are a sinner and that your sin separates you from God and it will lead to Hell when you die?  Do you believe that Jesus died for you, was buried, and rose again, making him the only way to be forgiven of your sins, have a relationship with God as your Dad, and to go to Heaven when you die!  Are you ready to pray and ask Jesus to save you from your sins? If you understand this information and would like to receive Jesus as your Savior, please pray the following suggested prayer or read it first and then pray to God in your own words: "Dear Lord Jesus, I want to have God as my Dad!  I know that I am a sinner and I confess my sins to you. I know that You are God, and I know that You died in my place to pay for my sins. Jesus, I believe that You rose from the dead, proving that You are God. Right now, in the best way that I know how, I call upon You and ask You to be my Lord and my Savior and my God. Thank You, Jesus, for dying for me. Help me now to live for You. Amen." ### YOUR NEXT STEPS: If you just trusted in Christ as your Savior then God just became your Dad!  Congratulations! "For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the Spirit of adoption, whereby we cry, Abba, Father" (Romans 8:15). This simply means that God is our Daddy!  Now you are able to seek a closer relationship with your Dad by reading the Bible and praying to Him! If you already have a relationship with Jesus and God is your Dad then take some time right now to write out a list of all of the things that God has done for you!  Then spend some time in prayer talking to Him about them and thanking Him for everything!
