Brilliantly YOU: Learning to Live Bold & FreeSample
YOU are braver than you know.
Fear is something that none of us are immune to regardless of personality, age, and experience. Sadly, fear often keeps us from living our best lives––from daring greatly, loving vulnerably, and doing good. But when we call fear out for the thief that it is, its power automatically becomes weakened in our lives. It loses its ability to isolate, shame and paralyze us from moving forward in faith.
When we are brave enough to face our fears, we are ready to change the narrative that’s written in our hearts about our lives. When fear advances and takes ground, it is not something to be concealed but to be exposed. It is not a dark spot to breeze over in our own personal histories but a treasured space for Jesus to open our eyes to a deeper understanding of the power of His perfect love.
To gain victory over fear, we must be honest about how fear has limited us in the past and equally committed to practicing courage moving forward. Courage is a daily choice. Some days you may not feel courageous; honestly, you may feel under qualified and afraid. On these days, choose to act boldly anyway, relying on the power of the Holy Spirit and knowing that if you keep pushing past your discomfort you will experience tremendous wins.
Daily courage looks different for each of us and different from day to day. Courage is sharing the vision for your life with confidence and recruiting support along the way. Sometimes, courage means showing up even when you’d rather not keep the commitment. Other times, courage looks like giving it a go and embracing the new. Courage can mean defying the odds and refusing to give up. It can also mean saying “yes” to opportunities, big and small, that come your way. Sometimes, when you find yourself reacting to challenges with worry and fear, courage is simply calling a trusted friend and asking for their encouragement, wisdom, and prayers.
In the moments you find yourself afraid, may you choose courage. May the Holy Spirit spark within you tenacity and resilience. May you live with a refusal to hand over another inch of your heart to fear. May more and more, fear lose, and more and more, friend, you win. May love win. May Perfect Love triumph.
You are destined for greatness, friend, and you can win the battle over fear… one day at a time.
TODAY’S CHALLENGE: What actions can you take to practice courage? Would you speak differently, share your dreams more openly, pursue an opportunity, or take a greater risk more so than you are now? Write down ways to activate your courage and pray that the Holy Spirit would give you boldness to live today and this season of your life courageously.
