Eternal Life
Observation
- In 1 John 1, Jesus is referred to as the Word of life. Jesus is not just a temporary life. Jesus is eternal life. The beautiful thing about committing our life to Jesus is realizing that we won’t just have this life on earth as a gift from God, but we will have eternal life with God. Here’s the cool thing about this eternal life: All the struggles, brokenness, and death we see in this life will eventually end, but the hope, joy, and love rooted in God will last forever.
Take a Moment
- Take a moment to make a two-column list. Label one column temporary and the other column eternal. Under the temporary column, list all the things that leave you feeling worried, anxious, or frustrated. In the eternal column, list ways you can have hope or find joy in Jesus. Pray to God and ask him to help you live your life based on the eternal list, not the temporary list.
