CHAT-A-BOX Pt 2. Being HumanSample

CHAT-A-BOX Pt 2. Being Human

DAY 2 OF 5

CONVERSATION STARTERS

Q1) Would you prefer to keep growing for the rest of your life, or stay the size you are now?

Q2) What are some areas we can grow as people?

What does the Bible say about growing?

  • We grow closer to God by spending time with him.

Come close to God, and God will come close to you. (James 4:8a)

  • We grow closer to God by loving and obeying him.

“I have loved you even as the Father has loved me. Remain in my love. When you obey my commandments, you remain in my love, just as I obey my Father’s commandments and remain in his love. I have told you these things so that you will be filled with my joy. Yes, your joy will overflow!” (John 15:9-11)

  • We grow closer to God by reading the Bible and doing what God says in it.

All Scripture is inspired by God and is useful to teach us what is true and to make us realise what is wrong in our lives. It corrects us when we are wrong and teaches us to do what is right. God uses it to prepare and equip his people to do every good work. (2 Timothy 3:16-17)

  • We grow closer to God by trusting him, even in hard times.

Dear brothers and sisters, when troubles of any kind come your way, consider it an opportunity for great joy. For you know that when your faith is tested, your endurance has a chance to grow. So let it grow, for when your endurance is fully developed, you will be perfect and complete, needing nothing. (James 1:2-4)

Discussion Questions
