Asleep At The Wheel; Taking Back Control Of Your LifeSample
Before you were even formed in the womb, God had a plan and purpose for your life. At the beginning of our lives, we are all the same. Tiny miracles formed in the image of God searching for food, comfort, nurture, and love. That part really never changes, if we’re honest with ourselves. We grow to become filled with God-sized dreams, hopes, and aspirations before we come upon a startling realization: It’s a hard-knock life.
This realization arrives at different points for each of us, but no one is exempt from hurts, habits, hang-ups, and pain in this world. The enemy is real, and he wants nothing more than to steal every ounce of joy from you. This new awareness often becomes too much to bear and causes us to slowly drift away from the plan and purpose for which God created us. It doesn’t happen all at once. A few bad eating or spending habits here. A few Sundays missing church or a few family emergencies there. One small bad choice leads to another and just like that, you’ve begun the slow fade to an unfulfilled life.
The beautiful thing is that while we may sometimes lose sight of God’s plan and purpose for us, He never loses sight of us. No matter how far we wander off the path to fulfillment, God is always there, like the father of the prodigal son who waits with open arms for his child to return home. Maybe your life has been difficult. Maybe you are tired and desperately seeking a change for your life. If you’ve ever experienced unhappiness or unfulfillment, or felt as if you needed a wakeup call to set you back on the path to your God-given purpose and calling, this plan is for you! Over the next six days, we will unpack reasons why we fall asleep at the wheel of our lives and discuss biblical truths that can help lead us back to the passion and purpose God placed within us at birth. It’s time to wake up and reconnect with God.
