You are Sealed
In Ephesians 1:13-14, we see that as a follower of Christ, we are “sealed”. When we hear the good news of Jesus, God begins to tug on our hearts to follow Jesus. At this point, we are faced with the decision to follow Jesus or to turn away. Once you choose to put your faith and trust in Jesus, turning to Him and away from sin, the Holy Spirit comes to live inside you. The Holy Spirit is confirmation of our new relationship with Jesus (see Romans 8:16). The presence of the Holy Spirit “seals” us as God’s children.
Lastly, remember that you were not created for yourself, but for God (See Colossians 1). As a child of God, your inheritance is eternal life with Christ in Heaven! There is no greater inheritance than that!
The last 3 studies of Ephesians can be summed up in 3 main ideas:
1. You were chosen by God.
2. You were redeemed by Jesus’ death on the cross.
3. You are sealed by His Holy Spirit.
Prayer:
Thank You God for choosing, redeeming, and sealing me. Thank You for sending Your Son, Jesus, to die for me. Thank You for giving me eternal life with You in Heaven. Father, I pray for those around me who are not followers of Jesus.
