Jesus is God
Jesus is both man and God. This is very difficult to understand, but you don’t have to fully understand it to believe it. Paul writes in Colossians 1 that Jesus is the “visible image of the invisible God.” God cannot be seen, not only because He resides in Heaven, but also because the Bible says we as humans cannot even look at Him or we would die.
Even though God cannot be seen, He did come to the earth in the form of a man who is Jesus (John 1:1-4). While visible on earth, Jesus proved He was God through His miracles. He healed the blind(John 9:1-12), raised dead people to life(John 11:38-44), walked on water(Matthew 14:22-32) and even controlled the weather with His voice(Mark 4:35-41).
In John 14 Jesus claimed to be God when He said, “He who has seen Me has seen the Father.”
If you are wanting to get to know your Heavenly Father more, just look at Jesus!
One time, while Jesus was on earth, He healed a man who had been paralyzed (Mark 2:1-12). Not only did He heal the man, He also told the man his sins had been forgiven. Only God has the authority to forgive someone for the sins they committed against Him. By doing so, Jesus, once again proves that He is God. He said of Himself in Matthew 28, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to Me.”
Only God could be both God and Jesus.
Today, trust who Jesus said He is, both God and man. Remember, you don’t have to understand it, you just have to believe it.
Prayer:
Jesus, it’s not easy for me to understand that You are both God and man, but I choose to believe it because You said it. I choose to believe it because I trust You. Thank You for Your grace, and continue to teach me Your ways. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
