The Good Gospel: Understand The Greatest News You’ve Ever HeardSample
You + God Inventory
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us. For the creation waits with eager longing for the revealing of the sons of God. For the creation was subjected to futility, not willingly, but because of him who subjected it, in hope that the creation itself will be set free from its bondage to corruption and obtain the freedom of the glory of the children of God. Romans 8:18-21
The gospel must be big enough to fix the world’s problems as well as our individual ones. We must have a message that starts with God and the good news of our creation, while also staring down the depravity we see around us and being honest about it. We must name the injustice around us while also being honest about the rebellion within us. And, we trust and hope that the salvation God offers to us in His gospel is big enough to save all of it. Here are some questions to ponder:
- How would you summarize the world's beginning?
- In what ways do you bear God’s image in your own life?
- How would you define sin and brokenness in the world and in your own life?
- How do you feel about God? How do you think God feels about you?
Prayer
God, You are mighty. Thank You for the beauty of Your creation. I see You in it. Would You continue to show me how to be more like You? I need You, Jesus. Every day.
