The Structure of Kingdom Stewardship

DAY 2 OF 3

Alignment

I am sure you are aware of what happens when a car gets out of alignment. If this happens to your car, the tires wear unevenly and damage comes at a quicker pace. Not only that, the ride itself becomes shaky. The covenant is God’s alignment mechanism whereby when you and I align under His rule in the context of a growing, abiding relationship with Him, we experience the smoothness and protection of His overarching care. When we operate out of alignment with Him and His covenant, our lives get the full effect of uneven wear and tear, as well as the shaking that takes place during times of conflict, chaos, or crisis.

The Bible is clear that the primary goal of the covenant is to deepen your relationship with and experience of God. It’s to allow you the realization of a broader involvement of God in your life. Ezekiel 16:62 says, “Thus I will establish My covenant with you, and you shall know that I am the Lord.” Knowing God is the foundation of kingdom stewardship.

Far too many Christians are living lives of defeat because they don’t realize God’s commandments come from a heart of love. As a result, they operate outside of the covenant. Any time you are functioning apart from complete obedience to God’s commands, you are out of alignment. When you seek to live in obedience––following His will and His Word––you will experience a regular and abundant outpouring of His blessings in your life.

About this Plan

The Structure of Kingdom Stewardship

The definition of a covenant is a divinely created relational bond. Covenants are official, legal, binding, and relational. In this reading plan, Tony Evans talks about covenants and how they intersect with our roles as kingdom stewards. Your proper management of His resources is used by God to “confirm His covenant.” Covenant is to be the defining word of our spiritual existence.
