Godly Sorrow Worketh RepentanceSample
Repent. Turn To Christ.
“For godly grief and the pain God is permitted to direct, produce a repentance that leads and contributes to salvation and deliverance from evil, and it never brings regret; but worldly grief (the hopeless sorrow that is characteristic of the pagan world) is deadly [breeding and ending in death].” 2 Corinthians 7:10 AMPC
God does not bring sorrow. Romans 6:23 KJV declares, “For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.” For the wages of disobedience is death. Your disobedience brings about sorrow, toil and torment. Yield to God and not to the flesh. Let God lead you. Choose to follow His Way and you will get His Results. Choose to love God, not for His benefits, but choose to love Him because He is God. Choose to Love God and turn away from sin.
2 Corinthians 7:10 NLT, “For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” Sin is enmity against God. It pains God to see His Children sin. In fact, God Loves you so much that He gave His Best so that you don’t have to settle. Those who willingly and willfully sin, settle for second best. Surrender to God and receive His Best.
Romans 8:7 KJV declares, “Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.” Carnality wars against God. The flesh wars against the Truth.
Romans 8:7 NLT declares, “For the sinful nature is always hostile to God. It never did obey God’s laws, and it never will.” The sinful nature will always settle for second best. Submit to God. Receive His Son — Jesus Christ and be set free. “[That is] because the mind of the flesh [with its carnal thoughts and purposes] is hostile to God, for it does not submit itself to God's Law; indeed it cannot.” Romans 8:7 AMPC
