Love God Greatly: Draw NearSample

The words we speak begin with the thoughts in our heart. In other words, the mouth speaks what the heart is full of (Luke 6:45). That is why it is so important that we meditate on God’s Word and His works, which are the first two themes of Psalm 19.
Our thoughts and our words are valuable and worth guarding. We so quickly fall into the trap of negative thoughts, which lead to critical words, either about ourselves or others. If we fail to use wisdom and caution, what we speak aloud is heard by our friends, family, or children.
What we choose to think about and the words we allow to come out of our mouths can also be full of life. Our words can be full of life, love and worship to our Creator and all He has made.
Lord, thank You that You are not only the one who keeps us safe, but also the one who paid the price to set us free. Help us to meditate on Your Word and Your works so that our hearts and our tongues may be life giving to all around us. May our words and thoughts be acceptable in your sight. Amen.
