Save the DateSample
Temptation can sometimes feel like a trap. It feels like we’re in it alone, with no way out. But in his letter to the Corinthians, Paul reminds us that we are not the first ones to feel tempted. Maybe the Corinthians never knew what it was like to be tempted by what they looked at on a smartphone or found on social media, but they knew exactly what it was like to be tempted by something they knew wasn’t best for them or to be with people they knew weren’t helping them make the best choices.
As lonely as being stuck in temptation can feel, it’s important to remember that you aren’t alone. You aren’t the first to feel this, you won’t be the last to feel this, and there is always a way out. The way may not be easy, but with God, the way is there.
Think of someone you trust who you can call or text when temptation feels like it is getting the best of you. Commit to reaching out to them for help when you feel tempted this week.
