How to Plan for Success - Life Is Easier When You Know Where You Are Going

DAY 5 OF 6

5. Get to Work

Plans don't come to fulfillment by the fact that they were prayed for and written down. We need to start doing what we know will lead us to success. It might happen that because of the counsel we sought, we will know even more what to do than if we were in the process alone. But eventually, we will have to roll up our sleeves and start executing the plans.

This is the part that might be the hardest. Most of us will be excited at the very beginning as we still vividly remember the goals we planned for and see the planning itself as possibly exciting. But stopping here is as if we were living out the plan in our heads. And so often we find that once we start working on the plan, things get harder.

We love seeing results. But most of the things worth working on, won't give us instant success. We will work and work and won't see any results right away. For example, if you have ever been on a diet, you know you lose weight overnight, right? When I started running regularly, I often came back home and asked my wife if I looked any better. You know the answer. However, when I'm consistent, and I don't give up, the results come. How many people started working on the budget and gave up too soon because they couldn't see the results? Or how many people decided to tithe and then felt their financial situation wasn't any better after the first month, so they gave up? Do not give up! Be consistent. The results will come if we stay consistent. If God had given you a dream and you planned with Him, you don't need to worry. Just do your part.

About this Plan

How to Plan for Success - Life Is Easier When You Know Where You Are Going

Sometimes we wonder why our lives seem to lack direction. Often we feel that we spend most of our time reacting to circumstances that life brings us, but the most common reason is usually a lack of planning. However, the Bible teaches us very valuable and practical lessons about how to find the right direction and effectively go through life making the most of what God has entrusted us with.
