And the Lord Shall Be King.Sample
No Other Gods.
“Thou shalt have no other gods before me.” Exodus 20:3 KJV
You may not worship false idols made out of wood and stone. You may not serve or worship a man-made statue. You may not serve a visible image. But what you might be serving is hidden deep within the walls of your heart. Let Christ search your heart. He knows the depths of your heart and the intimate parts of your soul.
In fact, Hebrews 4:12 AMPC declares, “For the Word that God speaks is alive and full of power [making it active, operative, energizing, and effective]; it is sharper than any two-edged sword, penetrating to the dividing line of the breath of life (soul) and [the immortal] spirit, and of joints and marrow [of the deepest parts of our nature], exposing and sifting and analyzing and judging the very thoughts and purposes of the heart.”
The Word of God is active. The Word of God is alive. The Word that comes from God is living. False gods are not alive. Idols don’t speak. False gods do not commune with you. Choose to commune with the One who created you. Christ wants to commune with you.
Before you were created — God knew you. He knew your purpose before you were formed in your mother’s womb. God knew why He created you. God had a specific purpose in mind when He formed you. So surrender to the One Who knew your purpose before the foundations of the world.
The things of this world are temporary. The things that God breathes upon will satisfy you forever. John 6:35 KJV declares, “And Jesus said unto them, I am the bread of life: he that cometh to me shall never hunger; and he that believeth on me shall never thirst.” He is the Bread of Life.
Christ will satisfy you. He is the Living Water. Surrender to Christ. Surrender to Him and you’ll hunger no more. He fills all voids. Surrender to Christ — He will satisfy all of your needs. Matthew 4:4 KJV declares, “But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.” Surrender to His Word and He will satisfy you.
Matthew 6:8 KJV declares, “Be not ye therefore like unto them: for your Father knoweth what things ye have need of, before ye ask him.” God knows what you have need of before you ask. Don’t turn your worries into idols. Don’t turn your cares into gods. Don’t idolize the things and treasures of this world. Trust God — Treasure Him and not the things of this world. “(For after all these things do the Gentiles seek:) for your heavenly Father knoweth that ye have need of all these things. But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.” Matthew 6:32-33 KJV
