Love God Greatly: BeatitudesSample
Humility and insecurity are not the same. Instead of debilitating self-doubt, humility occurs when we rightly understand who we are and who God is. Our humility is not grounded merely in our smallness but in God's greatness. We do not become humble by beating ourselves up, but by praising God and placing ourselves under His rightful authority.
God deserves the ultimate praise and glory for His creation of the whole world. When we are tempted to take credit for our own gifts and talents, our worship of God reminds us that He deserves all the credit for the work He enables us to do. God spoke the world into existence and has every right to direct our lives, set the rules, and judge His creation. Not only this, but He is gracious enough to initiate a relationship and instruct us on the best way to live our lives.
Thank You, God, for creating the world and everything in it. Thank You for gifting me with talents and opportunities to use them. Help me to continually point back to You, remembering that You are the source of all goodness and truth.
