For There Is One God. 

“For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus; Who gave himself a ransom for all, to be testified in due time.” 1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5-6‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Jesus Christ died for you. He gave Himself as a ransom for you. He paid the penalty of sin just for you. Through the shed Blood of Jesus Christ, you are free from the bondage of sin. When you receive Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you are redeemed from the imprisonment of sin and God sees you through the Blood of His Son — Jesus Christ. 

When you are in Christ, the entanglement of sin no longer lords over your life and you are free through Jesus Christ. When sin entered the world through Adam’s disobedience, the penalty decreed by God Himself — was death. God could not abandon or forsake His Word, so He sent His Son in the flesh to satisfy the penalty of sin for all.

Jesus Christ laid down His life for a sin that He never committed. Jesus Christ was blameless. Jesus Christ took on the penalty of sin even though He was sinless. Jesus Christ—God in the flesh— came to Earth as a man in order to Lord over and to conquer sin. 

Man could not redeem himself. Man needed a Savior. So God sent His Son in order to redeem us back to Himself. 

1 Timothy‬ ‭2:5-6‬ ‭AMPC‬‬ declares, “For there [is only] one God, and [only] one Mediator between God and men, the Man Christ Jesus, Who gave Himself as a ransom for all [people, a fact that was] attested to at the right and proper time.” Jesus is our mediator. 

According to Strong’s Concordance, the Greek word for “Mediator” is, ‘mesitēs’ (G3316) which means, “One who intervenes between two, either in order to make or restore peace and friendship, or form a compact, or for ratifying a covenant.” 

Jesus reconciled the covenant between God and man. Through His death, Jesus Christ submitted to the will of God the Father and conquered death, hell and the grave.

When you are in Christ, there is no bondage that can keep you entangled to the grip of sin. When you are in Christ, He has given you the power to conquer every attack of the enemy. Jesus Christ conquered sin and through Him, you have the victory to overcome it as well. 

Submit to Christ. Do not surrender to the lust of the flesh. Christ conquered the flesh and sin — just for you.
