Fix Our Eyes

The reason making God the center of our relationships is so important is that life is going to get tough. There WILL be times you don't feel like you can continue any longer on the race that God has placed you. In those times, it will be easy to fix our eyes on the mistakes of our spouse. It will be easy to get frustrated, come home from work, and take it out on each other. It will be easy to grow bitter. When we fix our eyes on Christ we remember a few things. First, He is the only perfect One that we can rely on. Second, He has set an example for us to follow. And third, that He is our motivation because He endured far worse than we ever will, even though He deserved none of it. When we change our perspective, it gives us energy to continue to run our race and it keeps us from crushing the relationship with pressure that only God can handle.

Begin the habit of taking 5-10 minutes everyday to talk to God, fixing your eyes on how great He is, and asking that He help you to run your race strong that day.
