ONE!

DAY 2 OF 8

The First ONE! Was You

"Then all the tax collectors and the sinners drew near to Him to hear Him.  And the Pharisees and scribes complained, saying, “This Man receives sinners and eats with them.”  So He spoke this parable to them, saying:

“What man of you, having a hundred sheep, if he loses one of them, does not leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness, and go after the one which is lost until he finds it?  And when he has found it, he lays it on his shoulders, rejoicing.  And when he comes home, he calls together his friends and neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’  I say to you that likewise there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents."

Luke 15:1 –7 NKJV

When and Why did God chose you and chase after you?

"God decided before the foundation of the earth to adopt us into His own family by bringing us to Himself through Jesus Christ. This is what He wanted to do, and it gave Him great pleasure. Consequently, we praise God for His glorious grace and great love that He has lavished on us who belong to His dear Son." (Ephesians 1:5-6).

"God chose you, you didn't choose Him (John 15:16) so that His grace might be seen and praised now and for all eternity. He chose you for adoption long before the earth was formed. Because it gave Him great pleasure. Not because of anything you had done (You hadn't done anything)."

"God chose you because of His great love for you. Ephesians 2:4 (AMP) says, “But God—so rich is He in His mercy! Because of and in order to satisfy the great and wonderful and intense love with which He loved us.”

The extent of God's love for you is captured in Zephaniah 3:17 (NIV) which says, “The Lord your God… will take great delight in you, He will quiet you with His love, He will rejoice over you with singing.”

His focus and love was and is fixed on you.  Jesus says in John 15:16 (NIV) "You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

You were His One! and now that you are His, He wants you to bear fruit by helping Him to find and bring another person home to the Father.

Once you realize you have been chosen by God and appointed to bear fruit you are ready for step one.
