Read To Me Daily Semester 4Sample
EZEKIEL 8-9:
Through Ezekiel, God foretold terrible destruction for Judah and Jerusalem. The trumpet will sound the battle call, but no one will get ready, because they are under God’s wrath.
SONG OF SOLOMON 5:
In yesterday’s poem, the young man extolled the perfection of his bride.
MATTHEW 25b:
In our first reading in Matthew 25, we heard two parables that speak about being ready for Christ’s return. An important phrase is repeated in these parables: “outside there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth.” By those words, Jesus is teaching two important ideas: That the punishment in hell will be conscious punishment (shown by the weeping), and it will be painful (as shown by the gnashing of teeth).
Let’s pray.
Please pray along with me, following my words. I will use the pronoun ‘I’ to pray for me personally. I invite you to listen first, and pray in a similar manner after you understand what I have prayed.
Lord, You can take everything I own!
May the measly amount I have earned belong totally to your kingdom.
The one thing I desire above all else is to hear You say to me, “You have been faithful in managing small amounts. Come on in and share my happiness.”
Sharing your happiness would be better than gaining the whole world.
I pray that the oil of the Holy Spirit would light my lamp.
May I be awake and ready today for any chance to glorify You in words or in actions.
