DAY 21 OF 116

2CHRONICLES 19:
Yesterday we heard the story of how Jehoshaphat helped Ahab in battle. God had already spoken through a prophet that Ahab would meet his downfall and how the dogs would lick up his blood. This happened, as we already read in 1Kings 22, when they took his chariot back to Samaria.

PROVERBS 31b:
Speaking of a capable and virtuous wife, Proverbs 31 says this:

Pro. 31:28 GNT Her children show their appreciation, and her husband praises her.
29 He says, “Many women are good wives, but you are the best of them all.”

MATTHEW 14:
Yesterday in Matthew we heard of the final judgment at the end of time in two parables that spoke about a separation of humanity. And we heard of the pearl and the treasure— illustrating the joy of finding our salvation in Christ.

Let’s pray.
Almighty, heavenly Father, how we thank You for your amazing Word. Not one of your Words fails to be accomplished. Everything You say or promise comes to pass. It doesn’t matter if Ahab went into battle disguised. The arrow You appointed not only found him, but found the little vulnerable chink in his armor. We thank You also for such wise words about the blessings of having a virtuous and capable wife. Those of us who have been so blessed— as I have— give you praise. Your word is true. Bless my listener if she is a wife. Similarly if my listener is a husband, may he give thanks and praise to You for his wife and not forget to show honor to her. And Lord Jesus, You are the treasure we have all been seeking! Through You we find all the spiritual riches in the heavenly world. Our best investments are whatever we give to further your kingdom. You are our joy. And your every word is true.
