An Everlasting Love
Have you ever fallen in love?
Maybe you are happily living with your life partner now and, if so, that is wonderful. But many of us have experienced the pain of a broken relationship or a friendship that has gone sour and the idea of a “forever” kind of love feels like a disappointing myth.
When relationships break, the loss can create an arid area in our hearts – a feeling of unfulfilled longing. It is into this particular area that God speaks when He says to us,
“I have loved you with an everlasting love.”
What is God saying through these words? Can they change the loss of our hopes into an oasis of peace?
“I have loved you…” says the Lord. The phrasing speaks of a love that reaches back to the very beginning of Creation. He didn’t just love us from the time we became Christians, but always. When you love someone, you feel emotionally connected to them even when you’re not together. Therefore, God is saying to you,
“I have always loved you and always will love you. I will never give up on you. Don’t imagine you can just walk away from me, for I am in you and you are in me. I will never leave or forsake you. You cannot disappoint me for I already know everything about you and still love you. Your actions may grieve me at times, but my forgiveness is an ever-flowing river. I am always seeking to show you the riches of my lovingkindness. You will always be my focus, my number one.”
Does that word encourage you? God’s love for you is persistent! Jesus is the true friend who never takes offence and is committed to you forever.
Jesus says to you…
“You are my beloved friend and I love you with an ‘everlasting’ love. Open the door of your heart afresh to me today and I will come and share a meal with you, and we can enjoy being together again. We can chat, laugh and even cry together. To be with you is my greatest joy and always will be.”

About this Plan
At times areas of our lives are like a wilderness: grief, loss of hope, rejection all play their part. But during these times, God loves to come alongside with His deep compassion and love. The Bible is full of stories of how God brought wonderful transformation in people’s lives. Father God can do the same today, to bring joy to your wilderness and transform your desert into a living stream.
