Today’s big idea is this: You will come alive in your relationship with God exponentially faster within Christian community.

You were wired for relationships, no isolation. 

In fact, the enemy does his best work of lies and manipulation in your life if he can isolate you. The way to fight against this is by finding a family of faith to belong to - other brothers and sisters in Christ who will walk with you.

This is why being committed to a church and church youth group is so important. Those are not just fun programs to fill time, the whole point is to “spur one another on” into greater faith like the Hebrews passage commands. Christian community has so many benefits: help in hard times, learning from what others already know, friendships, a place to belong, a place to serve, others who will pray for you, and the list goes on.

So, are you ready to come awake and grow in your relationship with God? 

Then find a church, find a Bible study, find Christian community! How? We suggest starting by asking a friend who you know is already plugged in somewhere. You could also do some research on social media by searching #youthgroup #studentministry or similar hashtags and filter within your city and location. There are people who have already been praying for you and can’t wait to love you and get you plugged in!

Life will throw hard things at you, and even after you awaken to a relationships with God, life can still be difficult. But there is hope, because God promises to be right there with you. When reading the Bible is part of your daily habit and you are committed to consistent Christian community, those are two very powerful pillars to stand strong in hard times and live God’s fullest life.

Parting shot: remember that when you awaken to God’s love, that is just the beginning. Now you have a responsibility to share that love and help others come awake too! The best way you can be used to help point someone to an awakening is through prayer and the way you live a God honoring life - your testimony.

Closing Prayer: Dear Lord, thank you so much for offering me grace, even though I was lost in sin. I choose you instead of my old life of doing whatever I want and disobedience. I give you my whole life, now help me to be a voice that helps others awaken to who you are. Amen.
