After CampSample
Emotions can be intense after a week of camp.
Some of you are probably super excited to go home and be with family and friends again. Others might feel just the opposite – worried, even scared, about all the things to face and deal with after getting off the bus.
We get it. It’s hard to leave a beautiful place where you had a blast and spent sweet time with friends and heard about the God who made and loves you.
Please hear and remember this: even though God is still back at camp with all the people working and serving there, God is also with you, right now, this very minute, while you read this. And he’s at home, right now, this very minute, ready and waiting for you to get there.
So – that changes everything, right? If you are a Jesus-follower, God is with you always because he is in you always. The Bible is very clear about this.
- “The Spirit of God, who raised Jesus from the dead, lives in you.” (See Romans 8:11)
- “It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me.” (See Galatians 2:20)
- “And we know he lives in us because the Spirit he gave us lives in us.” (See I John 3:24)
You are not going home alone. In fact, you will never be alone again – even when you’re by yourself – because God is in your life. Now. Always. Forever.
Whether you're feeling excited, sad, nervous, worried, joyful, confused (or any other emotion), God is right there, knowing and caring about how you're feeling.
(Now read Day 5 for one final thought about going home.)
