Glorify God
Nothing is more important than bringing glory to God. We see this again and again throughout the Bible, and the Israelites didn’t forget this during their celebration following Ezra’s reading of God’s Word. The Levites led the people to stand and praise God, blessing His name and praising God for what He has done.
Likewise, we ought to glorify God.
When we experience triumphs, we should glorify God because He makes our work possible. He guides us every step of the way, providing for our needs and giving us wisdom for every challenge. During the celebration, the Israelites remembered the ways in which God had helped and provided for them in the past. We should do the same, taking time to remember just how far God has brought each of us.
Of course, it’s easy to remember to glorify God in the good times. But let’s not stop there.
Let’s make it our mission to glorify God on every step of the journey, no matter where we are in the work we do for Him. When He calls us to some particular task, let us glorify Him for the opportunity. When the work feels too difficult, let us thank God that He is with us. When He provides what we need to do the work He’s given us, let us praise Him for equipping us. When He helps us navigate times of opposition and struggle, let us thank Him for sustaining us.
No matter what work we do for God, we do it so that others may glorify Him. So let us continue to do good works so that we can make His name known.
Pray: Think of the ways God has provided for you and sustained you. Then glorify Him for what He’s done.
