Knowing Christ & Making Him Known Sample

Knowing Christ & Making Him Known

DAY 7 OF 7

I pray this devotion has been an amazing time as you pursue the God of the universe. I assume there have been a lot of thoughts and emotions that may leave you feeling like you just walked off of a roller coaster, while others have brought your heart comfort and peace. I want to set your mind at ease and give you a simple process to follow that will make it easier to stay on a good path moving forward. There is much learning and growing ahead, and I want to help you to stay focused on the main thing, which is Christ.

As you spend time in church and around the church world, there seems to be a tendency to complicate things. Many Christians fall into a trap that more is better. Many will try and convince you that you need Christ and …. They will try and add things in addition to Christ for your relationship with Him. Many of these people are good-hearted but can lead you astray from abiding.

Jesus kept things very simple and spoke practically to people. I encourage you to make the following statement your vision and life mission: “Knowing Christ and Making Him Known.” If you will wake up every day with this as your focus, then you will stay in an abiding relationship with Christ and make His focus yours. What you do for God will change on a regular basis as He reveals more of the blueprint for your life to you. Your fellowship with Him should never change.

Knowing Christ is crucial for you to live a successful Christian life. Part of being a Christ follower is to make Him known. You will not do this if you don’t have a personal abiding relationship with Him. People recognize authenticity. If you are trying to share about a God you do not have fellowship with, people will see that a mile away. That is religion. You have a form of God but deny the power to daily live for Him (2 Timothy 3:5). When you make it your life mission to know Christ, making Him known will be a natural outflow and fruit of your relationship with Him. You won’t have to muster up the energy to share your faith. It will just flow out of you and people will recognize the authenticity of that.

Experience Grow Share

Every day you should find a way to experience Christ. This can happen in a time of prayer, worship, devotion, corporate service at a church or conference, or a whole host of ways. It should not be limited to a timeframe set apart in your day. You should learn to experience Him all day every day.

The second part of the process involves discovery and growing in every way possible. Discover who God is and who you are in relationship with Him. Grow in the gifts that God has given you. Grow in fellowship with Him. Grow in the knowledge of the Word. Grow in your faith. Grow in His love for you. Every day you should find practical ways to develop in your relationship with God. This could involve a daily Bible study, church discipleship, accountability group, leading your family in devotions, or many other things.

The third part of the process involves sharing the love of Christ in practical ways. When you experience and grow in God every day, sharing Him will be a natural outflow of your life. You will find ways to share His love with people in your area of influence. There are people God has placed in your life that may never hear the message of Christ outside of you sharing it with them.

Action Items:

Take some time to write out your thoughts from the past week. Does anything stand out? In what ways have you seen God at work in your life over the past week?
